Why I Write

Compared to some, my life has been charmed; to others, it might look like a complete train wreck. The truth, as with most things, probably lies somewhere in between. What I can say is that, yes, I have experienced many happy and joyful times, but I have also known both deep stress and profound sadness, and because of that, I am drawn to stories with happy endings. I want to read them. I want to write them. And I want to share them.
You, the reader, have given me one of your most valuable possessions: your time. That is no small gift, and I take it seriously. My hope is that when you turn the last page or close the screen, you will feel satisfied, maybe even uplifted, and that you will walk away with a sense of connection to the world and the characters I have created, characters who, in many ways, have inspired me as much as I hope they inspire you.
Reading and writing allow us to step beyond ourselves. Through them, we can be transported to another time: past, future, or an alternate present. We can find escape, comfort, and understanding. We can discover a laugh that lightens our hearts or a moment of peace in the middle of a hard day.
When I write, the stories take on a life of their own. Sometimes the characters speak up, telling me, No, that’s not what I’d do, or Thank you for finally understanding me. They lead me through their own journeys, and I simply follow, scribbling it all down. So many times I have started with an idea, begun writing and then… things change course and the story takes over.
So, welcome to my little corner of the world…a place you will find love, laughter, hope, and happy endings. I invite you to join me on this adventure, because the best stories are the ones we share.
